In today’s changing healthcare market, finding a physician with both clinical and business experience and education is a top priority. Hospitals are looking for physician leaders who have the credentials needed to get involved in clinical strategy yet who can also take a seat at the executive table.

“It’s important for aspiring physician executives to achieve balance between what has already clinically been observed and the operational mindset/degree set to be obtained,” Linda Komnick said in an interview with PhysBizTech. Komnick, a consultant with more than 15 years of healthcare industry experience at Witt/Kieffer, said that there is a large demand for physicians in a leadership role, and a small number with the skill set to fill it.
